With an ever-growing population of almost 790,000, the city is home to many visible minorities. Almost half of its residents are people of colour, including folks of Southern Asian and Chinese descent. The city is growing at a rapid pace, and in the past two and a half decades the population has doubled, according to experts. And the population is predominately affluent, with a median income of approximately $85,000 per person annually, according to city data.

Mississauga is next door to historic Streetsville
It takes less than 10 minutes to make the trip from Mississauga, by hopping on a train or grabbing a cab. Visiting Streetsville is like stepping back in time. The village prizes itself on its commitment to history and conserving the buildings and streetscapes that were built in the mid-1800s, when Streetsville was incorporated. Streetsville is a neighbour of Mississauga, but in certain respects it is a world away.
