Once the dentist such as has assessed the severity of the tie in your child or you, then treatment is planned and will be described to you. At that point, you have the option to go ahead with treatment at Frenectomy Mississauga.

In general, for the first 3 days after, you might have some bad breath. That is common and should disappear.  You might see some white tissue at the site and that’s normal as well.

Sutures will either be absorbed into your mouth or fall out on their own. Most often this occurs on the day of your treatment. If there is some slight bleeding, please put some pressure on outside of your lip or use gauze.

Do not worry though, we will provide everything you need to heal properly. Complete healing could take up to a few weeks. At any time, please call us if you have any questions or are feeling discomfort.

Remember, when you are numb, do not bite your lip, cheek or tongue! Also please make sure you stick to water, juice, ice chips or popsicles, soft foods such as applesauce, pudding, yogurt. Do NOT use any straws as that puts unneeded pressure on the sutures. After numbness subsides, please stick with soft foods such as pasta, eggs, creamed cereals or moderate temperature soups.
